The FIFA Diploma in Football Medicine is a free online course, designed to help clinicians learn how to diagnose and manage common football-related injuries and illnesses. The course is designed specifically for primary care clinicians including doctors, physiotherapist and other allied health practitioners. No pre-existing sports medicine knowledge is required. The diploma is presented by FIFA, in collaboration with a number of international experts in football medicine. The faculty presenting the FIFA Football Medicine diploma are recognised experts in the field of sports medicine. They are located around the globe at 49 FIFA Medical Centres of Excellence.
Over the past 20 years, FIFA has published almost 400 articles in peer-reviewed journals. The diploma provides an opportunity to easily access this knowledge. It also provides a ‘road map’ to other useful material including journal articles, websites and podcasts. It is hoped that this will enhance the users knowledge of sports medicine.
